Bailey Hill Projects

Capturing the Castle in Words

Capturing the Castle in Words is a poetry project giving the opportunity for participants to explore their creativity and imagination, creating poetry inspired by Bailey Hill. Three sessions were delivered at the end of 2019, two sessions were provided for students at Ysgol Bryn Gwalia and Ysgol Glanrafon and a third session was delivered at Mold Library. The open session was delivered bilingually and was available to anyone interested in exploring or developing their creative skills.

The sessions were delivered by Fiona Collins, a Storyteller and drama practitioner with over twenty-five years’ experience. Historical information and pictures of Bailey Hill were used during the sessions to inspire participants and to encourage exploration of their feelings and memories of the park.

The poems created through these sessions were amazing, we hope you enjoy reading them as much as participants enjoyed creating them.
